The Perfect Picot

I am not usually one that will toot her own horn and give herself an "atta girl", but here I'm going to have to make an exception.
I've been working on GRACE by Vicki Mansfield as a possible chapter project. The blackwork (not shown) and the Hardanger klosters worked up really fast. The moment I had to tackle divided wrapped bars and picots I threw the whole thing in a corner. Not sure what made me dig it out again a few days ago, but once I sat down and actually TRIED it wasn't nowhere near as dramatic as I first told myself.
This afternoon I was struggling with Vicki's description on how to make the picots. That's when I dug up Janice Love's "Hardanger - Basics and Beyond", by go to 'bible' when I can't remember how to make a dove's eye or the dreaded picot :-). After ripping out a few I FINALLY got it! And, aren't they just gorgeous? Uniform and pretty ... can't wait to stitch some more.

Thank you so much for the lovely detailed pictures! It helped me so much - I have been struggling with my picots - dread doing them even tho they are lovely and dainty when completed!
